The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression has risen to 48,339, with 10 more bodies recovered from rubble by medical teams and rescue workers. Additionally, 111,753 people have been injured since the conflict began on October 7, 2023, according to the daily statistical report.
Ongoing Humanitarian Crisis and Rescue Challenges
The Ministry of Health warned that several victims are still unaccounted for in areas inaccessible to ambulances and civil defense teams. Despite a ceasefire that went into effect on January 19, the situation in Gaza remains dire, with widespread destruction and infrastructure collapse.
Ceasefire Violations and Escalating Tensions
Local authorities in Gaza continue to report daily violations of the ceasefire by Israeli forces. On Monday, Israeli settlers allegedly burned an agricultural room in Abu Shaban, east of Yatta in Hebron, under the protection of occupation soldiers. According to witnesses, racist slogans were also spray-painted on the site.
In another incident, Israeli occupation forces allegedly attacked civilians and homes in Al-Zeitoun, southeast of Gaza City, and in the southwestern areas of Rafah. They reportedly opened fire in Al-Zeitoun and at the Al-Awda roundabout in Rafah, causing fires in residential buildings.
Humanitarian Concerns and Call for Accountability
The escalation of violence and ceasefire violations have raised serious humanitarian concerns. Local and international organizations are calling for immediate investigations into these incidents and demanding accountability for human rights violations.
As the death toll continues to rise, the people of Gaza face unprecedented challenges, with limited access to medical care, shelter, and basic necessities. The international community is urging all parties to respect the ceasefire and work towards a sustainable resolution to the ongoing conflict.
